Annual Yoseikan Budo Seminar 2015 Salon-de-Provence

Yoseikan England attended again this year the annual weekly long seminar in Salon-de-Provence in France. This was once again a very successful seminar with lots of attendee's from all over the world!

We once again had the pleasure of training under Soke Hiroo Mochizuki, Founder of the Yoseikan-Budo style and his two sons Mitchi and Kyochi Mochizuki, both high calibre international experts. Additionally, various international experts in Yoseikan Budo were invited to teach for an hour on each day, making for a very interesting seminar where all the attendee's had a chance to try different aspects of training in Yoseikan.

For part of each day, all attendee's had the choice of either doing traditional style Yoseikan Budo or competition/combat style Yoseikan Budo depending on which area they were more interested in developing, which is a great new way of allowing different people to train the aspects of the style that they are interested in! All of the different aspects of Yoseikan Budo were covered, from Ground Fighting to Striking to Weapon training as well as Grappling and Kata training. For those with more energy to burn there was Yoseikan training and sparring classes in the evening.

Every afternoon, we attended the optional Combat Module with Tunisian Pro MMA fighter, 9 x World Champion, Yoseikan Budo 4th Dan Black Belt and International expert Issam Barhoumi (198 Fights, 177 Wins, 47 KO's), which was an amazing experience! Issam taught a very comprehensive program for combat within competition, showing combinations, tactics and deadly power resulting in devastating KO and submission finishes!

We all walked away from this year's seminar with a lot of new techniques, tricks and improved mastery of the art and we cannot wait for next year's seminar!

Annual Yoseikan Budo Seminar 2013 Salon-de-Provence

All of the different aspects of Yoseikan Budo were covered, from Ground Fighting to Striking to Weapon training as well as Grappling and Kata training. For those with more energy to burn there was Yoseikan training and sparring classes in the evening.

Every afternoon, we attended the optional Knife Self Defence Module with Yoseikan Budo 5th Dan Black Belt and International expert Jean Francois Demoulin, which was a fantastic and very enlightening experience! Jeff taught a very comprehensive program for realistic knife defence, showing combinations, striking with the knife, countering, disarms and some of the knife kata's that he has developed. The course really highlighted how dangerous a knife can be, and how easily you can be cut/injured, and more importantly the best way to minimise the risks in fighting an opponent armed with a knife! Merci beaucoup Jeff pour un tres bon stage!

This year's seminar was a real eye opener! A whole host of new techniques to take away and a much greater understanding and appreciation of knife defence! We are now already looking forward to next year's seminar!
